The Nisco Museum of Mechanical Music
in Ein Hod contains the finest
collections of antique music boxes
and other mechanical musical
instruments in the Middle East.

The collection, which was accumulated
over 40 years by Nisan Cohen, the founder
of the Nisco Museum, contains music
boxes, hurdy gurdies, an automatic organ,
a reproducing player piano, a collection
of 100 year old manivelles, gramophones,
hand operated automatic pianos and
many other antique musical instruments.

ARCHIVES
The Nisco Museum of Mechanical Music has
established an archive of old Yiddish gramophone
records which were recorded from the early 1900's
to the beginning of World War II.

These recordings reflect the spirit, soul and humor of
people soon to be destroyed by the Nazi murderers.

In an attempt to accumulate and preserve as many
of these testimonies of a culture as possible, the
archive hopes that the echoes of a lost people and
their Yiddish language will forever be heard on the
very instruments they were meant to be played on.
